e-Challan Lookup — verify before you pay

Type your vehicle number, driving licence, or challan number. We send you straight to the official Parivahan e-Challan portal — the only safe place to check and pay. We never see your data; we never charge a fee.

WARNING — fake e-Challan SMS is the #1 scam right now

Fraudsters send SMS or WhatsApp messages with a fake challan link, a fake APK file, or a fake UPI request. They harvest UPI PINs, drain bank accounts, or install screen-recording malware.

  • The genuine e-Challan portal is echallan.parivahan.gov.in — nothing else.
  • The government NEVER asks you to install an APK or click a UPI "pay request" from SMS.
  • Payment is always YOU pushing money OUT — never the government pulling money IN via collect request.
  • If you already paid a fake challan, dial 1930 — see our golden-hour guide within 60 minutes.

Look up your e-Challan

Pick one of the three identifiers below. We just build the correct Parivahan portal URL — we never store what you type.

By Vehicle Number

Format: 2-letter state + 1–2 digit RTO + 1–3 letter series + 4 digit number

By Driving Licence

Format on most DLs: state code + RTO + year + 7-digit serial

By Challan Number

The 19-digit number printed on your e-Challan PDF or SMS — only enter if it was sent by a legitimate source.

What happens when you click?
  1. A new tab opens at echallan.parivahan.gov.in with your number pre-filled.
  2. You complete the captcha on the government site.
  3. You see your challans (or none, if you have a clean record) and pay only on the portal.
  4. KanoonPilot is OUT OF THE LOOP from step 1 — we never see your captcha, vehicle data, or payment.

Know your rights on a traffic challan

You can contest a challan

If the photo is wrong, the offence did not happen, or you were not driving, you can move the Lok Adalat or the Magistrate's Court within the time printed on the challan. Most states give 60 days.

Section 200 MV Act — compounding

Most traffic offences are compoundable — you settle by paying the fine on the portal without going to court. Only repeat offences, drunk driving, and dangerous driving go to Magistrate.

Lok Adalat discount

National Lok Adalat (held quarterly) often gives 50–80% discount on traffic fines if you appear. NALSA 15100 has the dates.

Unpaid challans block RC/DL renewal

The RTO will not renew Registration Certificate, Driving Licence, or issue NOC for transfer until pending challans are cleared. Check before you sell or transfer a vehicle.
