How to swear and submit

Non-judicial stamp paper of state-specified value (₹10-₹100) from licensed vendor or SHCIL e-stamp portal.

2 Print on stamp paper

Print the generated affidavit directly onto the stamp paper. Do NOT sign yet.

3 Swear before Notary

Visit a Notary Public (or any Court's Oaths Commissioner). Carry photo ID. Sign in the Notary's presence. Notarisation fee ₹50-₹200.

4 Submit

Submit notarised original (keep a self-attested photocopy). Most authorities accept affidavits within 6 months of notarisation.

This is a starter draft. Making a false affidavit is itself an offence under §229 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (giving false evidence) — punishable with up to 7 years imprisonment. Some affidavit types (name change, passport, court submissions) have additional procedural requirements such as Gazette publication or newspaper advertisement — verify with the authority you are submitting to. KanoonPilot does not notarise or submit the affidavit for you.
